Growing the Future: Our Latest Poultry Project in Italy
PROGETTI | 01/04/2025
We are pleased to share our latest completed project in Italy: three poultry houses dedicated to pullet rearing, equipped with the Valli Volo Baby Area aviary system, designed to ensure animal welfare and optimal growth.
Each house has a capacity of 55,421 birds and is fitted with the Valli Volo Baby Area aviary system, an innovative solution that promotes healthy and efficient pullet development. This system provides structured spaces that allow young hens to exhibit natural behaviors such as flying, foraging, and exploring their environment—essential factors for proper feeding and balanced growth.
The Importance of the Rearing Phase in the Volo Baby Area
The Volo Baby Area aviary is not just a rearing system but a true training environment for pullets. Through a gradual process, young hens learn to navigate different levels, use mobile platforms, and become familiar with the arrangement of feeders and drinkers. This transition is crucial in preparing them for layer aviary systems, as well-trained pullets can move efficiently, reducing stress and enhancing productivity in the final housing system.
By implementing proper light management and strategically using platforms and gates, the system supports the pullets’ mobility development, encouraging them to move up to higher levels and become accustomed to independent movement. This learning process allows them to transition more confidently and naturally into their laying phase.

This project represents a step forward in modernizing poultry farming, ensuring not only animal welfare but also optimizing resources and improving efficiency for farmers.
