VALLI has always believed in the “Aviary” project as an alternative system for raising laying hens, investing considerable resources in creating a comfortable habitat.

In these ALTERNATIVE systems, using VALLI “AVIARIES,” hens are raised inside single-story or multi-story buildings.

The hens have access to many “shared spaces” throughout the building, offering them greater freedom to move from one area to another, stretch their wings, fly, and take dust baths—activities that are not possible in cage systems.

These systems also provide the animals with the opportunity to express natural behaviors such as pecking, scratching, and laying eggs in a closed nest.

The solutions pursued by VALLI for the “AVIARY” project have never been a simple “arithmetic addition” of measurements and surfaces; instead, the focus has been on studying animal behaviors in order to create an environment as harmonious as possible with the hens’ behavioral traits.

Animal welfare (evidenced by low mortality, thick and healthy plumage, vitality without aggression), excellent feed conversion (feed consumed/eggs produced), and high-quality eggs have been the main parameters considered in the design and development of our product.
